Pewter Pilgrim's Badge c1500AD, Fleur-de-lis like Crest probably Walsingham

Pilgrim's Ampulla

Used by pilgrims to hold holy water after visiting shrines during the 12th to 16th centuries. They were normally made from lead, as this example is, and had side areas to attach to clothing or belts - these are intact in our ampulla.  Please see the pilgrim's badge above for sale too, this would be an alternative form of trinket for proof of pilgrimage and as a good luck talisman. 30g, 28mm x 47mm.

English Cast Metal Crotal Bell

Crotal means rattle or castanet, the example here dates between 16th-18th centuries. The fitment hole is intact, made of copper/bronze mix with signs of verdigris, radiating pattern to the base, none to the top. 27mm x 35mm, 30.3g.     SOLD

Medieval Gilt Belt Fitment, 12-16th Century #1

A mount with fitting loops to top and side and hanging chains, a small number still attached, below. Some gilding still attached, a pretty little piece. 40mm x 25mm, 4.97g.
