The first 10 entrants with the correct answers will get a choice of one beautiful gold-leaved Staffa £8 stamp produced in 1977 for the Queen's Silver Jubilee, depicting one of the following Kings or Queen.

These stamps are 4.5 x 6cm, so are not the usual stamp size:

Harold II, Edgar, Henry III, Edward the Martyr, Edward I, Aethelred (Ethelred) II, James I, Charles II or Mary II.

This is on a first come first served basis, so time is of the essence in this instance. There should only be one entry per address. Once all stamps have been won there will be no other prizes and the competition will close. Should there be no correct answers then the most right may still have a chance, so do have a go! 

Now for the questions:

1. Which monarch first depicted Britannia on a coin of the realm?Answer: Charles II on the 1672 halfpenny

2. Which monarchs have depicted two heads on the obverse side (heads side) of their coins? 

Answer: Mary I with Philip of Spain, 1554; William and Mary 1689 and also Elizabeth II with Prince Philip


3. Which monarchs are shown riding a horse on their coinage?

Answer: Charles I, James I, Edward VI and Elizabeth II


4. Name one king who has a boar's head as his mintmark?

Answers: Richard III or Edward V
